What is New at BMS!

(note: the following information is new)

Friday, December 9, 2022:

This is a gentle reminder that this Friday, December 9, 2022, is a typical school day for both Barrington Middle School and Barrington High School students.

12 Days Till Winter Break:

We are just a few days away from our annual “12 Days Till Winter Break” fun! Please join in on the fun as we count down the days!

2022 12-days till Winter Break

8th Grade Family Meeting for 8th Grade Field Trip:

On Tuesday, December 13, 2022 (moved from Wednesday, December 14, 2022) from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm, we will be hosting a meeting for all 8th-grade families (parents/guardians) to discuss our annual end of the year 8th Grade Field Trip. At this meeting, our hope is to share with our families a few options and the cost implications of each one of those options. If your child would like to attend the end-of-year field trip, it is important for a family member to attend this very important meeting as we will be seeking feedback from families on a direction to pursue.

Panorama Family Survey (left in from previous week’s newsletter):

The District is seeking your feedback to celebrate our successes and identify areas for growth so we can work to create the best learning and working environment for our students and staff.

By taking a few minutes to complete the Fall ‘22 Panorama Family Survey you will be providing us with essential feedback about the climate and culture of each of the BPS school(s) that your child(ren) attends. Once the survey is complete, the results will be analyzed by district administration, building leaders, and school improvement teams to inform school goals and actions.

You can access the survey online from this survey link. The survey will be open until December 9, 2022.

Thank you for your continued support in the continuous improvement of our schools. Please contact your building principal if you have any questions concerning the survey.

Art Postcard Fundraiser:

Students in art classes have created beautiful  "All About RI" postcards.  Any monies raised will go toward sponsoring an artist to visit BMS!  Postcards are only $10 for a pack of 8.  They make great gifts!  Checks may be made out to “BMS” and postcards will be delivered to your student or are available in the BMS office for purchase as well.

BMS Spotlight on Learning

Let’s Celebrate our Amazing Learning Community!

(note: below you will find our standing/weekly BMS Spotlight on Learning)

BMS Spotlight on Learning:

This week we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Mr. Keller. Mr. Keller has been working really hard, not only as a teacher but as a great friend. He worked single-handedly on helping us with all our essays and has done really well. He is such a great teacher and works really hard. He has an extreme commitment, and he deserves to be applauded for all he contributes to our school. Thank you for your help! (Nominated by Afraz Rahman)

This week we would like to shine our BMS spotlight on BMS Students Rose Rakeman, Emily Peluso, Arya Rahman, and former BMS Students Halyna Chapman and Lillian Weinstein for being guest presenters at the Blue Ribbon of School’s Conference in Orlando Florida. These amazing students virtually presented to a captive audience on the various Project Based Learning opportunities grounded in Deeper Learning principles that they engaged in as students while at BMS. Well done students! (Nominated by Dr. Anderson)

Do you know of a BMS Faculty/Staff/Student member that is shining bright? If you do, please complete the form below and we can include the nomination in an upcoming newsletter.
