BMS Science Olympiad Coach: BMS is seeking a coach for our BMS Science Olympiad team. Our team has a long history of competing at the state level and we look forward to continuing to provide this opportunity to our students. Announcing History Day at BMS This year's History Day theme is Frontiers: People, Places, Ideas The LAST DAY to sign up for History Day(it's like the science fair for history fans) is THIS THURSDAY, October 20. Interested students MUST come to the meeting at 8am in the 6th grade BO Space, with their Chromebook.
Volunteers Needed to help with BMS History Day Project If you have an hour or two a week and would like to volunteer or would like more information, please email Julia Texeira texeiraj@barringtonschools.org. | ||||||||||
BMS Unified Theater: Students with a variety of abilities, of all backgrounds, come together to put on a production. The production is entirely organized, written, and directed by the students themselves. The first meeting is on November 1, 2022 and meetings are on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:20 pm to 4:45 pm in the BMS Auditorium until the production in late December/January. BMS Science Fair: Interested in creating your own science fair project? Students should join us at the informational meeting on Thursday, October 20th at 3:15 pm in Room 3217. BMS Yearbook: Time to order your BMS Yearbook!

BMS Yearbook - 8th Grade Baby Pictures: It’s tradition! See how much the 8th graders have grown! Each year we have pages in the yearbook dedicated to 8th grade baby/toddler pictures and it’s always fun to see how far they’ve come. Please complete this form and upload your child's baby/toddler photo directly. To avoid confusion, please ensure only one photo is uploaded per student. PLEASE NOTE: You need to be signed into your or your child's gmail account. If not, you will not be able to upload the photo. | ||||||||||
CoffeePond Picture Day Follow-up: Picture Day on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 went very smoothly. Picture packages are expected to be delivered to BMS in about 4 to 6 weeks. Picture retake day will be on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 if you'd like to have your student's picture redone (or if they were absent on September 28). Please send in your picture package with your student on that day. If you have any questions about ordering, reordering or just in general, please contact CoffeePond directly at 800-632-2323, extension 0 or email lifeguards@coffeepond.com. We cannot accept paper orders in school any longer but it is not too late to order. Contact CoffeePond at the numbers above. | ||||||||||
Drop-off/Pick-up Instructions: If you choose to drop-off and pick-up your student from BMS, please see this map for directions. Please note that the last early dismissal of the day is at 2:45 pm. | ||||||||||
Early Pick-Up Reminders: Notes or emails to bmsattendance@barringtonschools.org are needed every time you need to dismiss your student prior to the end of school. Middle School level students are not allowed to bike home, even with permission by note. ID and a physical presence is required to dismiss your student early. BMS Spotlight on Learning: This week we would like to shine a spotlight on Kelly Nelson. Whether it is scheduling 504 and IEP meetings, helping to organize coverage in the morning, organizing state testing materials, or helping to get the school ready for various events, and so so much more, it goes without saying that Barrington Middle School is extremely lucky to have Kelly Nelson. Barrington Lions Club Peace Poster Contest: For over three decades, Lions clubs around the globe have been sponsoring a very special art contest in schools and youth groups. Creating peace posters gives children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity, bringing peace to the world one child at a time. Community showing of short film “If Only”: All are welcome to this free public event at East Providence High School (2000 Pawtucket Ave, EP, RI) on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 6:00 pm. The East Providence Prevention Coalition is proud to present “If Only,” a short film created to initiate a meaningful dialogue between parents and children, and within communities, about prescription drug misuse and substance use addiction. | ||||||||||
East Bay Cotillion: Social Skills & Manners Class Sign-Ups. Designed for youth in grades 4-8 and begins on October 24, 2022. Barrington Youth Basketball Association: The Barrington Youth Basketball Association offers boys and girls in Grades 3-8 an opportunity to participate on grade level teams in the competitive MetroWest Youth Basketball League. The commitment is a 12 week regular season beginning in early December, with 12 games (home and away) usually on Sundays, playoffs beginning March 1st, and 2 weeknight practices per week.In order to participate youth must attend player showcase for grade level. Players will be evaluated on participation, sportsmanship, skills, game readiness, and coachability. |
