BMS Spotlight on Learning! This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Ms. Gabby Farino. The reason why she should be nominated for the BMS spotlight is that over the past year, she has been a great role model/mentor and has taught me so much. She is amazing at her work and should be recognized. Thank you for all you do Ms.Farino. (Nominated by Ms. Germano) This week, we would also like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Mrs. Connie Oswald. As many of you know, Mrs. Oswald has been struggling with her leg and still has managed to make it to school in her scooter and continued to recognize her students. She is a very kind and respectful teacher and my son is really enjoying her classes. She has really shown what it is to be a dedicated part of BMS. (Nominated by a Yellow Cluster Family Member) Do you know of a BMS Faculty/Staff/Student member that is shining bright? If you do, please complete the form below and we can include the nomination in an upcoming newsletter.

Newcomers Program:
Are you or your child new to the Barrington Community? If you have recently moved to Barrington or your child has transferred to Barrington Middle from another school district or from a private school, read on... We know how overwhelming it can be for kids to change schools. To assist in this transition we are again offering newcomers groups for students during the school day to orient them to what Barrington Middle School has to offer. If you’d like your student to participate, please feel free to contact the Student Assistance Counselor (see below) for more information! To kick off the year, we will be hosting a Newcomers Family Picnic on Monday October 4th from 5pm-6:15pm. Pack your picnic baskets! We will be meeting at the picnic tables outside the front of the building. This will be a great chance to meet other newcomers and their families, play some games, and learn more about Barrington! If you have any questions, or would like to learn more about the program, please reach out to Jordan Rodrigues, MA, R-DMT - Student Assistance Counselor, at (401) 247-3160 extension 1036 or email at rodriguesj@barringtonschools.org. Thank you!
