Message from Ms. Slaughter: Being on Time!

Being on time and ready to learn is important for successful students and classrooms. Beginning Monday, December 9th we will be adhering to the tardy/attendance policy as it is stated in our BMS Handbook. Tardies will start to accumulate for students on Tuesday, December 9th.

For tardiness to be excused, the reason must be communicated by the parent or guardian and accepted by the school administration. The main office must receive communication intended to excuse the lardy no later than 8:30am the following morning.

Tardies will be excused for the following reasons:

  1. Religious holidays

  2. Dental appointments

  3. Doctor appointments

Three unexcused tardies per trimester will result in an assigned office detention and family contact. Excessive tardiness may preclude students from participation in dances, Sports Nights, sports, and extracurricular activities.

Support our BMS Faculty and Staff by providing cookies for our Cocoa and Cookie Day:

Please consider supporting the BMS faculty and staff by donating a dozen cookies for BMS Faculty and Staff Appreciation Cocoa and Cookie day on Friday, December 20th.

We'll take care of the cocoa but we need your help with the cookies!  Donations may be dropped off between 7:30 am and 10:30 am.

~ Spotlight on Learning ~

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Becky Trahan! I am grateful for the patience and perseverance of Becky during this highly busy season of transition. Becky was balancing the new schedule changes in Aspen, while supporting proficiency data, updating and cross-listing Canvas pages, handling technology disruptions, and maintaining student devices. I cannot imagine how many hours she has spent outside of school especially during Thanksgiving. Through it all, she remains compassionate and thoughtful and is an excellent listener. We are blessed to have her in our learning community. (Nominated by a member of our BMS Learning Community)

Do you know of a BMS Faculty/Staff/Student member who is shining bright? If you do, please complete the form below and we can include the nomination in an upcoming newsletter.
