Voluntary Transition Days (Overview): September 1 and 2, 2021, are designated as voluntary transition days for our students. These days are devoted to teachers and staff getting to know your child. Your child will also have the opportunity to know the school, teachers, and classmates.

Voluntary Transition Days (Anticipated Attendance): We are excited to meet with our 6th-grade students for their voluntary transition day scheduled for Wednesday, September 1, 2021, and our 7th/8th-grade students for their voluntary transition day scheduled for Thursday, September 2, 2021. We do ask that you complete the below form (by 4:00 pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2021) regardless if your child is attending, as the information provided will help finalize our plans. Student Schedules: Recently our schedules were posted through aspen. It is important to note, that although the schedules look complete, our school counselors and administrators will still continue to make changes to schedules over the course of the next few days. What that means is that your schedules may change. We need to post the schedules for our teachers to be able to access their Canvas pages. We are aiming for our 6th-grade schedules to be finalized Tuesday evening (August 31, 2021) by 8:00pm; and our 7t/8th-grade schedules to be finalized Wednesday evening (September 1, 2021) by 8:00pm. We ask that you give us the time to continue to work in the schedules over the next few days prior to emailing us. Once the schedules are complete, and if you see discrepancies, please, by all means, reach out to your school counselor after Thursday, September 2, 202. 6th Grade School Counselor: Mrs. Nary (narys@barringtonschools.org) 7th Grade School Counselor: Mrs. Poirier (poirierj@barringtonschools.org) 8th Grade School Counselor: Ms. Sleboda (slebodak@barringtonschools.org) Once schedules are complete, we will send a confirmation email to our students and families. |
Start and End Times
BMS will follow a staggered dismissal for walkers/bikers/car pickup schedule for the first two weeks of school and then we will reassess.

Student Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures for the First Day of School: Students can enter the building beginning at 8:20. Students can be dropped off on the side of the school (via the tennis court entrance) or off of Lincoln Ave at the rear of the building. Students can be picked up in the same areas. Lunch Programs: Our 6th Grade Students will be eating lunch in their classrooms and our 7th/8th graders will be eating in the Student Union a cluster at a time. School lunches will continue to be provided to all interested students at no cost through Chartwells. Students who are engaged in distance learning, or who are isolated or quarantined, should reach out to their principal for instruction on picking up lunch, if interested. We request that all families who qualify or think that they may qualify for free or reduced lunch complete the linked form. Completion of the form allows us to support our students and our programs. |
COVID-19 Protocols: Full COVID Protocols will be available on the District website by clicking here on 8/25/2021. Please note that all staff, students, and visitors will be required to wear a mask in the building. All visitors will be required to show proof of vaccination, as well. The District will be hosting a Virtual Family Forum on 8/30/2021 at 6PM to present the full plan and to answer questions. Transportation Information: Specific transportation information was sent out by the District on 8/23/2021. Student information can be found in Aspen under demographics followed by the bus tab. Please forward all transportation questions to Melissa Resendes at resendesm@barringtonschools.org Many health and safety measures will remain in place on school buses. Masks will continue to be required on school buses for students and drivers. Buses will also continue the practice of maximizing ventilation, and we will continue to operate buses with windows partially open. Students will be assigned seating, and household members will be assigned to sit together where applicable. |
