~ Spotlight on Learning ~

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Arts Alive and our BMS student actors! This weekend, our BMS students performed 4 shows of Newsies! It was simply amazing to see the students come together and put an amazing production together. Great work to the Arts Alive team and all of our student performers!

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Mrs. Amy Boyle. Amy Boyle has been on fire with her reading! She is tearing through a popular YA mystery series. She takes suggestions from her students and talks up what she is reading. She is a fantastic reading role model at BMS! (Nominated by a member of our BMS Learning Community)

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on BMS Student Daniel Weiner. While substitute teaching in Aqua cluster this week, I observed Danii Weiner displaying exceptional kindness and compassion toward a fellow student. Danii truly exemplifies what it means to be a BMS student by thoughtfully recognizing when a classmate was struggling and then going out of her way to provide comfort and support. Her attentiveness and genuine concern for someone experiencing difficulty demonstrates the caring BMS strives to foster. Thank you, Danii, for being a compassionate friend to a student who needed extra care during a challenging moment.(Nominated by Ms. Currie).

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Ms. S (Mrs. Armstrong’s Sub). She is super energetic, helpful, kind, and funny. I wish her good luck on her Grease callback.(Nominated by a member of our BMS Learning Community).

This week, we would like to shine our BMS on Profe and Madame. Profe and Madame made sure all my students were taken care of while I was out sick. They went beyond the call of duty so 7th graders could still enjoy the Mardi Gras celebration and made sure 8th graders didn't miss their midterm. Gracias, Merci! (Nominated by Senora Sanjurjo).

Do you know of a BMS Faculty/Staff/Student member who is shining bright? If you do, please complete the form below and we can include the nomination in an upcoming newsletter.

Barrington Education Foundation Annual Giving Drive:

The Barrington Education Foundation (BEF) is reaching out to our community for support during its 2025 Annual Giving Drive.

As a volunteer driven non-profit organization, BEF relies on the generosity of our community members, families, and local businesses to fund teacher grants that provide extraordinary, educational opportunities across the Barrington Public Schools.  Since its founding in 1992, BEF has awarded over $1.3 million in innovative grants directly to all six Barrington Public Schools. These grants have funded educational pilot programs, cutting edge technology, art and literature workshops, and engaging materials that enhance learning for entire classrooms or grade levels. While working closely with teachers and administrators, BEF helps bring creative and impactful educational experiences to life - opportunities that reach beyond the limitations of the district’s budget.

Your donation will support grants that fund these transformative programs in 2025 and beyond. Please help us bring our educators’ visions to life and provide students at all grade levels the innovative, hands-on learning experiences they deserve.

For recipient testimonials, recent grant examples, and more details about the BEF organization, please visit the website at Barrington Education Foundation or email BEF at Barredfdn@gmail.com.

How can your family help to continue this important work in our schools?  Donate securely online at:  Annual Giving Drive 2025, venmo @BarringtonEducationFoundation, or check by mail to: BEF,  283 County Road, Barrington, RI.  02806. Your support makes all the difference!

We thank you for advancing our mission of championing extraordinary educational opportunities within the Barrington Public Schools.
