Mental Health Awareness Month:

This year, for Mental Health Awareness Month, the student council is going to give the voice to the students. Students are encouraged to write pieces focusing on mental health. These pieces could be any form of literature (eg. fiction, nonfiction, poetry, narrative, descriptive/reflective). They could be focusing on their own personal story or to spread a positive message to other students. These stories will be reviewed by the administrators to make sure the student is okay and all help is given. Please put your name on it so we can reach out just in case. These stories will be broadcasted on the Morning Show anonymously so please keep it to 1-2 minutes long.

Cluster Preference and Program Preference Forms:

This is a gentle reminder that Cluster Experience and Program Preference Forms for our incoming 6th and 7th graders are due by June 1, 2023.

Over the next few weeks, our incoming 8th grade students will be selecting their allied art classes for 8th grade. Please see a link to the possible offerings below.

We do encourage all of our incoming 8th grade families to complete the Hopes and Dreams form as this will give your child’s teachers helpful information.

Sibling Dismissal to 8th Grade Bridging Ceremony:

If you would like your 8th grader's sibling(s) to attend the 8th grade Bridging Ceremony on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, please complete the form below to have them dismissed at 12:30 pm.

  • Only siblings on our list will be dismissed to the ceremony.

  • An adult must meet a BMS staff member at the BMS flag pole to pick child(ren) up.  We cannot dismiss students to the ceremony without the adult listed on the form present.

  • Traffic/parking is very congested on this day.  To ensure a smooth dismissal for your younger students, please meet BMS staff at the flagpole no later than 12:30 pm.  We can dismiss your student(s) to an adult other than a parent as long as their name has been entered into the form below.

8th Grade Chromebooks:

Eighth graders will be handing in their chromebooks on Friday, June 16, 2023.  If your student does not have a device at home to use for completing their summer homework, please email Dr. Anderson at andersona@barringtonschools.org before Friday, June 16 so we can arrange for your student to borrow a device for the summer.

Community Service Drive:

The entire Barrington School District is coming together to raise awareness about period poverty by donating feminine products to homeless shelters nearby. You and your family can help by bringing in products such as pads and tampons to the bins located around the school. The Community Service Club will then collect and distribute them to women and girls in need around Rhode Island. The collection boxes will be placed by the nurse's office, the front office, and in the teacher’s lounge. We would appreciate your donations and support.
